Adenoma of the nipple can pose a diagnostic problem for both clinicians and pathologists. It can be confused clinically with Paget's disease of the nipple and histologically with carcinoma. The majority of nipple adenomas are entirely benign although rare examples have shown malignant changes. Limited surgical excision is the appropriate treatment.
