To compare quality of life, mood state, and physical functioning before and after revascularization in patients who have undergone coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTCA).
Quasiexperimental.
Hospital (university, Veteran's Administration, private) and home.
Patients who had undergone elective CABG (n = 44) and PTCA (n = 32); mean age 57.9 years (standard deviation, 8.2 years).
Quality of life, mood state, physical functioning.
Patients who have undergone CABG and PTCA are similar in quality of life, mood state, and physical functioning before revascularization. Quality of life did not change from baseline in either group. Mood state and physical functioning improved for both CABG and PTCA groups after the procedure, but there was significantly greater improvement in the PTCA group. Future research needs to evaluate changes in these parameters over a longer period of time and to explore interventions to maximize outcomes.
接受择期CABG(n = 44)和PTCA(n = 32)的患者;平均年龄57.9岁(标准差8.2岁)。
