It is the consensus of nursing leaders that the utilization of research in clinical practice is paramount if nursing is to be perceived as creditable by other professionals and by health consumers. However, ophthalmic nurses also face a second challenge because of the dearth of research addressing the outcomes of ophthalmic nursing behaviors.
