For the time being, traditional surgery is still the best technique for rectal cancer. Alternative procedures such as cryosurgery prove valid in the case of inoperable subjects in poor general conditions, in aged patients or in the presence of widespread metastases. In the near future, cryosurgery is sure to meet with interesting developments.
目前，传统手术仍是直肠癌的最佳治疗技术。诸如冷冻手术等替代手术在一般状况较差的无法手术的患者、老年患者或存在广泛转移的情况下被证明是有效的。在不久的将来，冷冻手术肯定会有有趣的发展。
