[Splenic cysts in childhood].

Three patients with a benign cyst of the spleen were observed at the Paediatric Surgical Department of the Medical University of Pécs over a period of ten years (1981-1990). In one case splenectomy was done while an accessory spleen was left behind. In the remaining two cases organ-saving procedures were performed. The study stresses the possibility of an organ-saving treatment, while these cases were previously treated exclusively by splenectomy.
