Is your staff well prepared for interviewing job applicants? The potential for legal action and the cost incurred when turnover is high area two reasons administrators should help staff develop effective interviewing skills. The author proposes using the structured interview, which is more valid and reliable than other interview methods. The guidelines for conducting effective interviews will be useful to beginning managers and can serve as a refresher for experienced administrators.
