Abstract
- The acute haemodynamic effects of metoprolol (0.15 mg/kg body weight) intravenously were studied at rest and during exercise, in a recumbent position in five patients with arterial hypertension of WHO Stage 1 or 2. 2. Significant decreases in heart rate, cardiac output and arterial blood pressures, both at rest and during exercise, were seen. There were no changes in the calculated stroke volume or systemic vascular resistance. 3. The apparent absence of any relative preponderance of the alpha-adrenoreceptors after acute beta-adrenoreceptor blockade with metoprolol warrants further studies on metoprolol in arterial hypertension.

- 对5例世界卫生组织1期或2期高血压患者仰卧位静息及运动时静脉注射美托洛尔（0.15 mg/kg体重）的急性血流动力学效应进行了研究。2. 观察到静息及运动时心率、心输出量和动脉血压均显著下降。计算得出的每搏量和全身血管阻力无变化。3. 美托洛尔急性β-肾上腺素能受体阻断后α-肾上腺素能受体未出现任何相对优势，这值得对美托洛尔在高血压中的应用进行进一步研究。
