Cortical blindness following cerebral angiography.

The use of radiological contrast agents is a common and necessary part of clinical medicine. Side effects of these agents are usually categorized as either allergic reaction including anaphylaxis, or specific organ system insult (i.e. renal impairment). A rare, but reported effect of vascular radiological contrast is transient cortical blindness.
