The development of internal medicine went parallel with the clinico-chemical diagnostics. The increase of the laboratory achievements, also in the field of prevention, is possible by a regional graduation of the laboratories with a centralisation as effective as possible under management of specialists. It is referred to the observation of quality instructions in standardized methods. The improvement of diagnostics by exchange between clinic and laboratory is particularly emphasized.
