Abstract
The directions and intensity of accelerated development of children and adolescents from the city of Poznań during the last century are analyzed. Periods of increased (the fifties and seventies) and decreased intensity (the sixties and eighties) can be distinguished, as well as a period of deceleration (corresponding to the second world war).
