[The change of serum alpha 1-antitrypsin level in patients with spontaneous pneumothorax].

The serum level of alpha 1-antitrypsin (alpha 1-AT) were observed in 32 cases with spontaneous pneumothorax. The results showed the level of alpha 1-AT in patients of spontaneous pneumothorax is higher than normal control. The degree and duration of elevated alpha 1-AT level was related with the recovery of spontaneous pneumothorax and its reoccurrence.
