Abstract

Storytelling is a way of knowing, in nursing, that which we have taken for granted. It is a powerful way to communicate with students, patients, and colleagues. A well-told story has the capability of remaining vivid in memory long after facts and figures are forgotten. This essay describes how storytelling can facilitate the processes of nursing education, practice, and research.
