[Clinical manifestations of cancer of the gallbladder].

The article deals with 14 cases of carcinoma of the gallbladder which were recognized during 750 operations performed for cholelithiasis in 1989-1991. The clinical manifestations were clearly subdivided into 2 groups of symptoms: carcinoma of the gallbladder with a clinical picture of acute cholecystitis, and carcinoma of the gallbladder with a clinical picture of cholestatic jaundice with clinical and biochemical indices of obstructive jaundice. Analysis of the clinical manifestations of carcinoma of the gallbladder, the difficult diagnosis of the disease, and the poor results of surgery led to the following conclusion: active recognition of cholelithiasis and timely surgical treatment of patient with the disease are necessary.
