[Microsurgical experiences in retinal detachment].

For many years, the microscope has played an increasingly front-line role in surgery. Five years of experience with the microscope in retinal detachments are now reported both in ophthalmoscopy - under the microscope with the help of Goldmann's three-mirror contact glass - and for episcleral preparation. Since this time, the microscope has been used exclusively for operations. The technical conditions, and advantages and disadvantages of the new technique are discussed.
