Abstract
Phenobarbital induces microsomal enzymes such as bilirubinglucoronyltransferase and increases bile flow. Therefore Phenobarbital has been used in the treatment of various forms of icterus or cholestasis. The present paper reviews the results of treatment obtained by various authors.
