Successful design of creative overhead transparencies should be part of the instructional repertoire of perioperative educators. Personal computers and user-friendly software have revolutionized overhead transparencies' dynamic, imaginative production. This article reviews the advantages and disadvantages of overhead projection, presents practical suggestions for generating and using transparencies, and displays computer designed examples.
