[A historical review of treatment of scoliosis].

The authors present the milestones in therapy of scoliosis since antiquity till today. The arduous work of generations of researchers has allowed to define the difficulties in treating scoliosis and the modes of overcoming them. Although tremendous advances in diagnosis and treatment of scoliosis have been made, the mechanisms responsible for it still remain, unknown.
