Community care for the severely mentally ill: a review.

This article considers the wide range of health policy initiatives designed to provide a framework for the provision of mental health services in the community. It is important that psychiatric nurses understand both the development and content of these policies as they have clear and important implications for their clinical practice when caring for the severely mentally ill on a day-to-day basis.
