The concept of "self-management", which developed within the association of family members of psychiatric patients, the so called "family movement", stands for two main objects: first, providing mutual help and support among and, secondly, participating in the shaping of psychiatric care, also in consideration of the standpoints of the "former patient group". In future, they will also focus on psycho-informative family-work and quality management in psychiatric and community care.
