Urinary infection in children is the most frequent disease of the urinary tract in that age group. The radiologic investigation of the urinary tract is important because infection is caused in almost 50% of cases by obstructive malformations and functional disturbances. Intermittent obstruction of the renal pelvis, functional obstructive megaureter, vesico-ureteric reflux, combined impairments of urinary flow as well as inflammatory renal mass lesions are being discussed.
