26 male rats with experimental hypercholesterolemia induced by a diet rich in cholesterol and mercasolil exhibited hyperactivity of kallikrein-kinin system (KKS) and unbalance of elastase-inhibitory activity in the serum and myocardium. Transcerebral exposure to impulse current (10 Hz, 2 mA) enhanced KKS and normalized elastase-inhibitory activity in the rats.
