The authors present a case of cancer of the Fallopian tube and the finding of malignant cells obtained from the cavity of the uterus. There was little in the clinical findings and the only positive sign was free post-menopausal bleeding on account of which a full assessment was undertaken. By using the Gravlee sound passed through the cervical canal the uterine cavity was washed out and this gave the opportunity of finding malignant cells when curettage had only shown benign polyps. At operation a cancer of the left ampulla which was encircling the ovary on the same side was removed.
