Small papillary cancer of the thyroid (SPC), conventionally defined as a tumor less than 10 mm in diameter, today is considered quite interesting. In fact, autoptic incidence is higher than reported in clinical series. Generally SPC has a good evolution, however, particularly aggressive forms are described. The Authors review Literature data and evaluate pathogenesis and diagnostic problems of SPC. The Authors agree on a multidisciplinary therapeutic protocol in which total thyroidectomy is the elective intervention associated, in selected patients, to metabolic radiotherapy.
甲状腺微小乳头状癌（SPC），传统上定义为直径小于10毫米的肿瘤，如今被认为颇具研究价值。事实上，尸检发病率高于临床系列报道。一般来说，SPC的病情发展良好，不过，也有描述其具有特别侵袭性的类型。作者回顾了文献数据，并评估了SPC的发病机制和诊断问题。作者们认同一种多学科治疗方案，即全甲状腺切除术是首选干预措施，在部分患者中，还需联合代谢放疗。
