[Primary extramedullary plasmacytoma of the head-neck area].

BACKGROUND

A primary extramedullary plasmacytoma of the head and neck is a rare neoplasm with an incidence of 1%. The clinical features depend on localization.

PATIENTS

The clinical features, the method of diagnosis, and response to treatment of two cases with different localization were analysed.

RESULTS

For diagnosis immunohistological and serological investigations are necessary.

CONCLUSIONS

The method of treatment is determined by complete staging.
