Abstract
Pyogenic infections endanger the function of the hand. X-ray therapy beginning as early as possible has a good effect. From 1960 to 1975 170 inpatients and 250 outpatients were treated in this way. It has to be emphasized that surgical therapy cannot be replaced by X-ray therapy, but early radiation helps to keep disfunction (handruins) low.
