The use of argon plasma coagulation has proved to be an effective method of non-contact electrocoagulation with high efficiency in palliative treatment of gastrointestinal lesions. In this study there were 10 patients suffering from small oesophageal malignant tumors; in 5 patients no further tumor could be detected in biopsies during a period up to 34 months, in the other cases passage could kept open. These results suggest this treatment as an alternative therapy in selected patients.
氩等离子体凝固术已被证明是一种有效的非接触式电凝方法，在胃肠道病变的姑息治疗中具有很高的效率。在本研究中，有10例患有小的食管恶性肿瘤患者；其中5例在长达34个月的时间内活检未发现进一步肿瘤，其他病例则保持通道通畅。这些结果表明，这种治疗方法可作为特定患者的替代疗法。
