CAD/CAM dentistry.

CAD/CAM dentistry offers numerous advantages for both patient and dentist but still has problems to overcome. Recently the scope, sophistication and number of systems has increased. This paper aims to review and compare the systems available and systems under development, detailing current advances in the prosthodontic, orthodontic and oral surgery aspects of dentistry. Areas of future improvement, which includes aesthetics and integration with existing computer uses, are also indicated. Reductions in cost and improvements in user friendliness are needed to see CAD/CAM more widely adopted into conventional dental practice.
