Comprehensive socio-hygienic study of the health status and communal conditions carried out in the families in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) which is characterized by specific economic and geographic features, uneven density of population in various regions, and peculiar medico-demographic tendencies brought the authors to a conclusion that a staged approach is needed to transfer to the family doctor organization of therapeutic and prophylactic care of the population.
