Erythema infectiosum, fifth disease, is a mildly contagious childhood illness that may present with viral conjunctivitis. It is characterized by a facial rash with a "slapped-cheek" appearance and "lacy-like" rash on the trunk and extremities. Fifth disease is believed to be caused by parvovirus B19.
METHODS/RESULTS: A case of 10-year-old child with fifth disease and conjunctivitis is presented.
The progression, differential diagnosis, and management of fifth disease are reviewed.
传染性红斑,即第五病,是一种具有轻度传染性的儿童疾病,可能伴有病毒性结膜炎。其特征为面部出现“ slapped-cheek”外观的皮疹以及躯干和四肢出现“花边状”皮疹。第五病被认为是由细小病毒B19引起的。
