After exclusion of a manifest diabetes mellitus occurrence and distribution of hyperlipoproteinaemias in 250 patients with atherosclerotic obstructive diseases of the lower extremities were examined. 54,8% of the patients showed increased serum lipid levels, in which cases most frequently hypercholesterolaemias (type IIa and IIb) could be proved. Patients with obstructions of the pelvic arteries had significantly more frequent hyperlipoproteinaemias than patients with more distal obstructions.
