Autoimmune affections of the thyroid gland were found to be on the increase as were Hashimoto's disease and follicular adenoma, as evidenced by a pathomorphic study in surgically removed thyroid glands of 12684 patients over 1984-1993. Rise in the frequency of malignant tumors was moderate. Increase in the incidence of papillary microcarcinoma against the background of another surgical pathology of the thyroid gland may be an unfavourable prognostic sign of further growth of morbidity of clinically manifest forms of carcinoma in Kiev and the Kiev Province.
通过对1984年至1993年间12684例手术切除甲状腺的患者进行病理形态学研究发现，甲状腺自身免疫性疾病以及桥本氏病和滤泡性腺瘤呈上升趋势。恶性肿瘤的发生率呈适度上升。在甲状腺的其他外科病理背景下，乳头状微小癌发病率的增加可能是基辅市和基辅州临床显性癌发病率进一步上升的不良预后迹象。
