Positive lists comprise only a limited number of medicines destined for reimbursement by the health insurance companies. Intentions to publicize those lists at federal and provincial levels failed for constitutional reasons. Negative lists--on the other hand--as prepared by health insurance companies are admissible as long as they are--among other things--open for changes according to the scientific progress. Medicines being incorporated into a negative list can be prescribed but are not reimbursable.
正面清单仅包含有限数量的、由健康保险公司报销的药品。由于宪法原因，在联邦和省级层面公布这些清单的意图未能实现。另一方面，健康保险公司编制的负面清单只要在其他方面能够根据科学进展进行修改，就是可以接受的。被列入负面清单的药品可以开处方，但不能报销。
