The hypothalamo-hypophysial neurosecretory system of rabbits was investigated 1, 3, 7, 14, and 21 days after the anaphylactic shock. It was found morphometrically that dimensions of the nucleoli of the supraoptic and paraventricular nuclei gradually increased as compared with the moment of anaphylactic shock, but did not reach the control level. Restoration of the size of the nucleoli of the supraoptic nucleus was slower than of the paraventricular one. The quantity of the neurosecretory substance in all the system is significantly higher than in the control up to the end of the observation period (21 days). Thus, the intensity of the processes of synthesis and secretion of the neurohormones in the hypothalamo-hypophysial neurosecretory system was decreased for 21 days of the post-shock period.
