Fast FLAIR (fluid attenuated inversion recovery) is a magnetic resonance imaging technique used primarily for neurological imaging of the brain. This technique uses an advanced software package that employs basic inversion recovery principles to help differentiate between pathology and normal brain parenchyma without interference from high-signal cerebral spinal fluid. This article reviews the applications of fast FLAIR techniques in MR imaging of the brain.
