[The Homburg Dermatology Clinic: 50 years University Clinic].

The dermatological clinic in Homburg was founded in 1945. In 1947 it was integrated into the Saarland University as a dermatology department. A review of the history of the clinic documents advances and challenges in clinical dermatology, as well as new developments in related basic research during the last 50 years.
