Abstract

The influence of enflurane on the haemodynamics of the main and pulmonary vasculary system was studied in young healthy patients. The results showed no influence in heart frequency and mean arterial pressure, a slight fall in certain output and a significant increase in mean pulmonary arterial pressure. There is no certain explanation for the pathophysiological mechanism in pulmonary vasculary system caused by enflurane. According to our opinion these results are to discuss as a cause of a decrease of left ventricular work and a regulative vasoconstriction in the pulmonary vasculary system.
