Non convulsive status epilepticus (NCSE) of frontal origin is a rare cause of mental confusion. The present case of possible frontal-onset NCSE proved to have a neuropsychological examination that was suggestive either of a disruption of attentional function or a left prefrontal dysfunction, exhibiting disturbances of immediate memory and logical programmation, perseverations and affective disinhibition. Vigilance was not impaired. This case was therefore, on a nosographic point of view, more consistent with a simple partial status epilepticus with cognitive and affective symptomatology rather than with a complex partial status epilepticus of extra-temporal origin.
额叶起源的非惊厥性癫痫持续状态（NCSE）是精神错乱的罕见原因。本例可能为额叶起病的NCSE经神经心理学检查证实，提示存在注意力功能障碍或左侧前额叶功能障碍，表现为即刻记忆和逻辑编程障碍、持续性动作和情感抑制解除。警觉性未受损。因此，从疾病分类学角度来看，该病例更符合伴有认知和情感症状的简单部分性癫痫持续状态，而非颞叶外起源的复杂部分性癫痫持续状态。
