Abstract
We report a case of pleomorphic adenoma with extensive squamous metaplasia in the palate of a 52-year-old Chinese man. The dimensions of the tumor were 15 x 13 x 13 mm. More than 95% of the epithelial element in the tumor was composed of sheets of squamous cells with cyst formation. The pathogenesis, potential diagnostic pitfalls, proliferative activity and cytokeratin expression of this tumor are discussed.

我们报告了一例52岁中国男性腭部多形性腺瘤伴广泛鳞状化生的病例。肿瘤大小为15×13×13毫米。肿瘤中超过95%的上皮成分由鳞状细胞片层及囊肿形成组成。本文讨论了该肿瘤的发病机制、潜在诊断陷阱、增殖活性及细胞角蛋白表达情况。
