[Andrew Victor Schally: neuroendocrinologist of Polish origin].

American scientist of Polish origin, won the Nobel Prize in the field of physiology and medicine. In this way he became one of three Polish Nobel Prize winners in the scientific field (among M. Skłodowska-Curie and Tadeusz Reichstein). On the 20th anniversary of this historic moment I describe his life, scientific activity and achievements.
