[Myopathies. Possibilities of therapy].

There is still no useful form of therapy for muscle dystrophies. It is of importance not to miss the often difficult diagnosis of myositis, most inflammatory myopathies respond well to antiinflammatory therapy. Muscle disorders associated with endocrine diseases are curable by hormon replacement or correction of hormon overproduction. Myotonic muscle disease and hyper- or hypocalaemic muscle disease can be influenced positively by drug therapy.
