Mandibular metastasis of endometrial carcinoma diagnosed via a dental radiograph.

Metastatic carcinoma of the maxilla or mandible is rare. Dentists, however, have an obligation to provide every patient with a comprehensive oral examination that can detect potential signs of such a condition. An extensive intraoral and extraoral examination and a detailed evaluation of dental radiographs are necessary to provide patients with the best treatment possible. This case report describes how careful evaluation of an area showing subtle changes on routine dental radiographs resulted in a more comprehensive work-up and the discovery of metastatic endometrial carcinoma.
