The objective of the work was to verify in common clinical practice the advantages and disadvantages of surgery of the carotid arteries under general or regional anaesthesia and the possibility of selective use of a carotid shunt. Epidural cervical block appears to be a useful alternative of general anaesthesia, for the patient as well as the surgeon. It makes it possible to select, if desired, a carotid shunt which is an advantage from several aspects.
这项工作的目的是在普通临床实践中验证全身麻醉或区域麻醉下行颈动脉手术的优缺点，以及选择性使用颈动脉分流管的可能性。对于患者和外科医生来说，颈段硬膜外阻滞似乎是全身麻醉的一种有用替代方法。如果需要，它使得选择颈动脉分流管成为可能，这从几个方面来看都是一个优点。
