Abstract
As the 21st century rapidly approaches, a reexamination of nursing's call to care is timely. Caring, long claimed as central to nursing practice, seems to be in jeopardy. The article presents evidence that nurses do care for their patients. Moreover, caring is essential to the moral integrity of their practice. The article calls on nurses to put patients before convenience and to remember that without patients there would be no profession.

随着21世纪的迅速临近，对护理关怀使命的重新审视恰逢其时。长期以来被认为是护理实践核心的关怀，似乎正处于危险之中。本文提供了护士确实关心患者的证据。此外，关怀对于他们实践的道德完整性至关重要。本文呼吁护士将患者置于便利之前，并记住没有患者就没有这个职业。
