One hundred sixty-seven female nursing students in a baccalaureate program were administered the Edwards Personal Preference Schedule. Comparisons were made with the original norms for college women and with recently published norms for a group of urban college women, as well as with data for a group of nursing students collected at the time of the appearance of the original norms. While nursing students reflected some of the significant changes occurring among college women between 1959 and 1973, they continued to maintain a profile of needs consistent with the traditional view of those in their profession.
