Critical study of the value of renal clearances measured by the single shot technic.

A critical approach to the problem of establishing new methods of measurement of kidney function is presented. Variability of the reference clearances inulin and PAH is large, thus reference method ratios close to 1 are not sufficient to ascertain the value of the method under investigation. EDTA 51Cr and hippuran 125I, single shot technics illustrate the need for more accurate criteria required for validating a new technic.
