This commentary discusses the variety of nonneoplastic proliferations, putative preneoplastic lesions, and benign neoplasms of type 2 pneumocytes; the nature and differential diagnosis of micronodular pneumocyte hyperplasia; and the pulmonary manifestations of tuberous sclerosis complex.
