Abstract

Dealing with "managerial" problems resulting from the closure of institutions may be seen as a reactive process in which the task is to deal with the presenting problem. An understanding of some of the key factors which are likely to have caused the problems may help the manager to cope effectively. Ideally, understanding of these factors by those managing the change process would reduce the probability of problems developing.
