Abstract

We report a rare case of unusual widening of perivascular spaces (Virchow-Robin spaces). MR images showed multiple small round cystic areas along the perforating medullary arteries with signal intensity identical to the cerebrospinal fluid predominantly in the right cerebral white matter. Tc-99m HMPAO SPECT images showed no remarkable laterality and no definite ischemic lesion, and the neurological status of the patient was not remarkable. MR was a diagnostic examination and Tc-99m HMPAO SPECT was a useful supplementary examination in the evaluation of this case of unusual widening of Virchow-Robin spaces.

我们报告一例罕见的血管周围间隙(维氏-罗宾间隙)异常增宽病例。磁共振成像显示沿穿通性髓动脉有多个小圆形囊性区域,信号强度与脑脊液相同,主要位于右侧脑白质。锝-99m六甲基丙二胺肟单光子发射计算机断层扫描图像未显示明显的左右差异,也未发现明确的缺血性病变,患者的神经状态也无明显异常。磁共振成像是诊断性检查,锝-99m六甲基丙二胺肟单光子发射计算机断层扫描在评估该例维氏-罗宾间隙异常增宽病例中是一项有用的补充检查。
