Madelung disease, benign symmetrical lipomatosis, is a rare disorder of unknown etiology. It is characterized by the accumulation of fat deposits around the neck and upper body. It is often associated with glucose intolerance, liver disease, and malignant tumors of the lungs. This disease normally affects middle-aged males with a history of alcohol abuse. Surgical removal of the lipomatose mass is the treatment of choice. A case of Madelung disease in a 53-year old man with hepatopathy and respiratory failure is presented.
马德隆病，即良性对称性脂肪瘤病，是一种病因不明的罕见疾病。其特征是颈部和上身周围脂肪沉积的积累。它常与葡萄糖不耐受、肝病和肺部恶性肿瘤相关。这种疾病通常影响有酗酒史的中年男性。手术切除脂肪瘤块是首选的治疗方法。本文报道了一例53岁患有肝病和呼吸衰竭的男性马德隆病病例。
