To analyse the association between housework, burden, health status, and health services use in women (employed and homemakers) in Cornellà de Llobregat (Spain).
We included for analysis 520 women (employed and homemakers) aged 25 to 64 years old who were interviewed within the 1994 Cornellà Health Interview Survey.
Living with elderly persons and being more than 4 members at home was associated with a poorer health status in employed women, who also had a less frequent use of health services when they lived with elderly persons.
Employed women have a higher probability of declaring a poor health status when their domestic workload is high.
